Bill Tulp: "The Life and Times of Alexander Twilight"

Meet Bill Tulp, the author and illustrator of a new graphic biography of legendary Vermonter Alexander Twilight. In The Life and Times of Alexander Twilight, the story of  the 19th Century Vermont is brought to life through visual storytelling - a format that is accessible to all ages. This work covers Twilight's early years to his notable career as a teacher, principal, minister, and first American of Black ancestry elected to a state legislature. 

During his visit to The Galaxy Bookshop, Bill Tulp will talk about the process of creating a graphic novel and the research that went into this particular work. 

Bill has been an artist from a young age, working in a variety of mediums from drawing and painting to Mosaics and papier mache. He graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking. He has worked as an art teacher, environmental educator, illustrator, portrait artist, gardener, forest worker as well as a variety of other occupations over the years.
